Year-Round SRIS Needs: o 5-7 total buses throughout the year 2-4- Day trips, outside 50 miles but within NC 2-5- Overnight trips, outside 50 miles but within NC (some are 1 night, and some are 2 nights, hotel & meals included) *Usually on weekends. o Trips usually originate from the Wade Avenue central location. o All transportation for SRIS Programs would need a bus with a wheelchair lift and trained driver to operate lift. • Teen Program’s Needs: o 3-5 total buses during the summer months • Active Adult Programs o 5 buses annually for Golden Years Celebration (one day) Pick up groups of senior citizens from various sites within the Raleigh city limits and take to the Raleigh Convention Center Drivers will wait through the duration of the event and then return patrons to designated location(s). Typical time from pickup to drop off is 4 to 4.5 hours. o 5-7 buses for day trips on annual basis Trips include stops/parking at historical sites, sites of interest, museums, restaurants, etc. and often require driving in rural, suburban and urban areas. o All transportation for Active Adult Programs would need a bus with a wheelchair lift and trained driver to operate lift.
