Provide fumigation service by a certified restricted use pesticide applicator (Category 7E) using ProFume or similar product tested to be effective for Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (CRB) treatments in CRB breeding host materials according to FIFRA 24(c) Special Local Need Label License HI-250001 or, if using similar product instead of ProFume, according to applicable label. If ProFume is used, the applicator must use the ProFume Fumiguide and develop a Fumigation Management Plan in accordance with the product label. a similar product successfully tested to be effective for CRB treatments in CRB breeding host materials is used, the application and management plan must be in accordance with the applicable product label. During fumigation, monitoring of ProFume or similar product is required to ensure the appropriate Concentration x Exposure Time (CT) is achieved. The fumigation company must use a calibrated Spectros Instruments SF-400 multi- zone monitor with gas cells in sulfuryl fluoride or a similar calibrated device to effectively monitor all fumigated materials. If a similar product other than ProFume is used, the measurement and monitoring instruments must be approved by the DAB Plant Industry Division Administrator or Designee. Upon achieving the required CT and aerating to 1 ppm or less, the applicator wil clear the fumigated materials with a Spectros SFExplorIR Plus or similar device tested to be effective to clear the fumigated materials. Upon completion of the fumigation, aeration and clearance of the fumigated materials, the applicator must immediately inform DAB of the clearance and move all equipment out of the area, away from the fumigated materials after checking and confirming with DAB. Unless required by the applicable label, the applicator may not remove the tarp from the fumigated materials without DAB's prior consent. DAB will coordinate with partner agencies to remove all fumigate materials. Fumigation service will be conducted in the areas designated by DAB and may include the tarp/stack fumigation method. If the tarp/stack fumigation method is used, the fumigation company must use weights to hold down tarp stack. The area and volume of fumigation service conducted on CRB breeding host materials within the County will be determined and deemed to require rapid response by DAB.
