Fold up sign stands (“Fold Up Stands”) must be National Cooperative Highway Research Program report 350 Test Level 3 (“NCHRP 350”) approved for rigid signs, including plastic, minimum 2-mm aluminum/low-density polyethylene (“LDPE”) laminate and .080” aluminum. 1) Contractor shall supply Federal Highway Administration (“FHA”) approval letters for the Fold Up Stands. 2) Fold Up Stands must hold 4’ x 4’ or 3’ x 3’ square or rectangular signs. 3) Mounting height from the ground to the bottom of the Fold Up Signs must be between 12” to 18”. 4) Height to the top of a 4’ x 4’ diamond sign when the Fold Up Stands are fully extended must be a maximum of 7’ 6” (not including flags). 5) The upper brackets of the Fold Up Stands must be capable of holding and locking in place three (3) 18” to 24” square flags mounted on a 30” long by 0.75” diameter hardwood dowel. 6) The base of the Fold Up Stands must be made of galvanized steel or aluminum with double springs in which springs are coated or otherwise able to withstand a 500-hour salt spray test. 7) Legs and uprights on the Fold Up Stands must be made of a minimum 1.25” square aluminum or galvanized steel tubing. 8) Fold Up Stand legs must have a minimum of two (2) positions with a kick release for leveling adjustment...
