The City desires to develop an approximately 60,000 square foot office building on City owned land in downtown Bowling Green. This project will require the demolition of existing buildings and construction of a new building to serve the needs of the City for the next 50 years. The new municipal building should complement the character of the historic downtown while still utilizing energy efficient methods and technologies. The building will house general office facilities including, but not limited to: offices, conference rooms, lobbies, restrooms, breakrooms, open work spaces, and storage rooms. Additionally, the building is expected to house some specialty rooms including, but not limited to: medical clinic, hardened server room, permanent records storage facility, broadcast studio (both live and recorded), legislative meeting hall, and fitness room. The City desires to have special features as part of this structure that include, but are not limited to: a customer drive through, loading dock access, generator, outdoor patio spaces, vault, and storm shelter area.
