The scope includes constructing a new scale system. The current scale is outdated and needs to be replaced. As part of the requirement the contractor shall be required to adhere to the engineering specifications for the Truck Scale. Exhibit A in the Request for Bids reflects the specification requirements. If you do not comply with these specification requirements your bid will be disqualified. In addition, we will request that two bids be submitted as part of your package. The first bid will be for installing the truck scale within the existing foundation at the scale site, but adding approaches and ramp work to make the scale above ground to allow for the foundation below the scale to be accessed for clean out purposes. The second bid will be for constructing a new concrete foundation with piers, 10° approaches, 25' ramps, concrete clean out between piers and a Concrete Deck to be poured after installation. For both bid proposals you're required to adhere to the scale standards set in Exhibit A.
