The BG Visitor Center's Historic 19th-century dairy barn is undergoing restoration of both the interior and exterior. Key upgrades include a new heavy timber entrance vestibule, expanded restrooms, and changes to the existing public and staff areas. The project also involves replacing the current fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems, which includes removing an exterior diesel storage tank. Additionally, the parking lot will be repaired and expanded from 45 to 80 spots, using the existing space. Contractor to provide an option for trailers for owner personnel. Site walkways will be modified to improve handicap accessibility to both the first and second floors of the building. Exhibits will be procured and installed inside the Visitor Center. Past exhibits have been provided by Trivium on other NYPA Visitor Centers. The Contractor is responsible to keep the pathway clear for operation of the Lansing Manor House, which is to the North of the entrance from NY-30. The only laydown areas permitted for use are previously archaeologically tested areas as depicted in the Phase 1A and 1B Archaeological Report. The Contractor shall assume the laydown area is the existing asphalt parking lot adjacent to the BG Visitor Center.
