WORK REQUIRED A. During the months of October through February, all ground maintenance will be accomplished once a month at a minimum. B. During the months of March, April, and September, all ground maintenance will be accomplished every two weeks, weather permitting. C. During the months ofMay through August, all ground maintenance will be accomplished weekly, weather permitting. D. The frequency ofmowing and height ofthe cut depend on a number offactors, including the type of grass, its use, and the time ofthe year. All grass will be cut on all grounds as indicated on maps to be made available to all Vendors at the pre-bid visit. The Vendor will alter mowing patterns so as not to create ruts. Cut grass shall not be left on the lawn. Cut grass shall be removed immediately to avoid a build-up ofthatch, suffocation ofthe lawn and development ofweeds. The Vendor will maintain grass height between 2 and 3 inches. During the dry periods, however, the grass will be left a bit longer. The Vendor will be required to pick up debris, natural and manmade, prior to mowing any area. The Vendor is responsible for blowing all roadways, parking lots, curb & gutters, sidewalks and all other miscellaneous concrete/asphalt areas free of any grass clippings in order to give the appearance of a clean look. The Vendor is responsible for all equipment and fuel needed to complete this task. E. All sidewalks, driveways, curbs, and other concrete edges located in the improved grounds areas shall be edged with every mowing. Edging shall include removal of vegetation from cracks in sidewalks, driveways, and curbs within .5 inch ofthe edged surface and to a depth of 2.0 inches. F. The Vendor is responsible for maintaining all grass/weeds on base. Grass and weeds shall be trimmed around trees,shrubs, buildings, fences, poles, posts, fire hydrants, parking lot bumper blocks, and other fixed obstacles. Any flower beds or like areas will be kept free from weeds and grass. Trimming height shall match surrounding area grass heights. All areasshall be trimmed concurrent with mowing. Damage to trees and shrubsfrom trimming shall be repaired by the Vendor. If a plantshould die or become unhealthy due to damage, the Vendor will be responsible for replacing the damaged plant with a plant ofsame size and type. Plant replacement shall occur within 30 days of Vendor notification. G. Areas designated on maps for bush hogging will be accomplished once a month between the months of March through October. a.
