The IPTN envisions a future where every student in Washington state has improved access to rigorous and standards-based instruction and improved postsecondary outcomes based on their strengths, preferences, goals, and needs. To get there, the IPTN‘s work is anchored to the aim statement and drivers outlined in the Background section A.3. IPTN member organizations enthusiastically share OSPI’s vision for inclusion in Washington state, including the priorities in the aim statement and drivers. Member organizations provide professional development and technical assistance across the state to build capacity for inclusionary practices, the reduction of exclusionary practices, and the disruption of limiting beliefs (including those rooted in racism and ableism) that restrict student access to inclusive instruction. To do this, they demonstrate particular focus on the inclusion of the student groups identified in the IPTN’s aim statement above, using the drivers as levers of change. Professional development and technical assistance may be delivered in person or virtually, synchronous and asynchronous, and must be developed to support one or more of the following audiences. Target audiences include: • Families and students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) • In-service classroom teachers and teacher leaders (general education and special education) • Pre-service classroom teachers (general education and special education) • Pre-service school leaders (e.g., superintendents, district personnel, and principals) • Education support personnel (e.g., paraeducators) • Building and district administration, including school board members
