1. Fencing will consist of 4 strands of wire, top and bottom smooth wire, and second and third barbed wire. Barbed wire and Barbless wire will be 12.5 gauge, class 3. Either two or four point barbed wire will be acceptable. 2. Braces and corners will be constructed with 8' long, 6"-7" minimum diameter treated wood posts. These will be set at a minimum depth of 3 feet. 3. Cross bracing on braces will be made with 8' long treated poles and a minimum diameter of 4-5 inches. 4. "T" posts will be a minimum weight of 1.33 lbs. per/foot (Spec. Certified Required) and six feet in length. Steel Posts will be placed at intervals no greater than 16 feet between posts. "T" posts will be driven in to the ground to a depth that will allow only 45 to 47 inches of the post above ground (driven to a depth of 25-27 inches). 5. Fence constructed will consist of 4 strands of wire meeting the material specifications listed above. Spacing of 14 inches off the ground for the bottom wire. The second wire is 8 inches above the bottom wire (24 inches from the ground) the third wire from the bottom will be an additional 8 inches above the second wire (32 inches above ground) and the top wire an additional 10 inches above the third wire (42 inches above the ground). A two-inch variation in the height in the top wire will be acceptable. 6. All gates constructed will have a minimum crossing with of 17 feet. 7. Cattle guard locations, if no cattle guard is installed by the time the fencing crew reaches the location, a 22-foot-wide gap will be left or a gate will need to be installed if cattle guard installation will be delayed. A gate with a 17-foot minimum clearance is required to be installed adjacent to all cattle guard locations on either side of the cattle guard. The chosen side should be level and relatively free of brush and trees.
