University requires eight (8) single-sided mouse racks, two (2) single-sided rat racks, three (3) rabbit racks, six (6) tower blowers, and two (2) single-sided rodent recovery racks that meet the required specifications listed below. Single-sided mouse racks (70-80 cages per rack). Single-sided rat racks (35-40 cages per rack). Tower blowers must be thimble mount (blowers not on racks). Rabbit racks (3 cages per rack). Single-sided rodent recovery racks capable of housing both mice and rats at an ambient temperature higher than that of the room. Rodent (mouse/rat) racks must include all the accessories necessary for animal housing at 125% capacity (e.g. 80 cage rack should come with enough equipment to house 100 cages). Rabbit racks should include all the accessories necessary for animal housing at 200% capacity (e.g. 9 cages should come with enough equipment to house 18 cages). Additional bottles and sippers as outlined below. Rack accessories, depending on species, must include but are not limited to: Cages. Ventilated cage top/lid. Feeder/wire bar lid. Water bottle - 2,000 total. Sipper tube - 3,000 total. Cage card holder. Waste tray/drop pan (rabbits). Water bottle crates that hold up to 2,200 bottles. Caging components must be washable and autoclavable. White glove delivery service.
