1. Install the 24” x 12” tapping sleeve and valve at the intersection of 16th Street & O Street (Station 5428+34.36) and close the valve. This valve will be the Phase 1 control valve. 2. Construct the new water main west to the new valve at the northwest corner of 14th & O Street (Station 5419+66.38) and install a temporary plug west of the valve. 3. Close valves and temporarily plug the new mains north and south of the cross at 14th Street & O Street (Station 5420+44.33). 4. Pressure test, disinfect, and flush the new main through the new hydrant at Station 5419+73.58. 5. Transfer services from the existing mains to the new mains between 16th and 14th Streets. Open the valve at Station 5428+34.36. After confirming that all services are active and supplying water, plug and abandon the existing mains identified in the plans from 16th to 14th Streets. 6. Remove temporary plugs and connect new O Street water mains to existing mains north and south of the cross in 14th Street (Station 5420+44.00).
