The SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (SCDOT) requests a letter of interest and a proposal containing qualifications from all interested consulting firms experienced in providing Traffic Safety Engineering Services on an on-call basis necessary for analysis and design of statewide safety projects in South Carolina. Requested services may include but are not limited to, safety analysis utilizing highway safety manual methodologies, alternative intersection analysis and recommendations, safety/traffic engineering studies and recommendations, preparation of crash diagrams, identification of conceptual safety strategies, crash modification factor review, analysis, and recommendations, road safety assessments and recommendations, non-motorized safety assessments and recommendations, route surveys, subsurface utility engineering, conceptual, preliminary, right of way, and final roadway plans and specifications, traffic signal analysis and design, geotechnical exploration/testing/analysis/design, geotechnical analysis/design, construction support for design related issues, utility coordination, hydraulic design and hydrologic studies, storm water management and sediment and erosion control design, environmental documentation and permitting, public involvement and community relations, and other duties as deemed necessary by the Director of Traffic Engineering. The project team should be capable of providing all services outlined above.
