The City of Lilburn seeks to implement green infrastructure improvements within Lilburn City Park to stabilize a section of Camp Creek, a critical segment within the headwaters of the Yellow River, part of the Ocmulgee Watershed. The project aims to address ongoing environmental degradation documented in a 2022 Streambank Assessment and Preliminary Plan, by applying bio-engineered stabilization techniques to approximately 890 linear feet of impacted stream channel and its associated 50-foot riparian stream buffers. These improvements will mitigate flooding, sedimentation, and erosion along this highly visible corridor situated between the CSX Transportation railroad and the Camp Creek Greenway Spur Trail bridge.
