The Port of Longview (Port) is soliciting proposals from interested, qualified firms to perform an energy infrastructure planning study called Port of Longview’s Electrification Roadmap Project (POLER/Project). The POLER will be a comprehensive energy planning study that will assess the Port’s current and future electrical capacity. The goal of the study is to plan for Port decarbonization over the next 30-years and to implement measures adopted in its Climate Action Strategy (CAS), which was completed in 2023. As a complement to the CAS, the POLER Project will provide a strategic, phased approach to capital investments at existing and future Port facilities with the goal of reducing its overall carbon footprint while developing grid resiliency. This will require the Port to consult with its local utility provider Cowlitz County Public Utility District No. 1 (Cowlitz PUD), at a minimum.
