The City of Santa Barbara (City) is inviting proposals from qualified civil engineering firms to provide preliminary designs for the Mission Canyon Pathways Project (Project). The purpose of these services is to examine the feasibility of constructing a pedestrian and potentially bicycle passage adjacent to the historic mission canyon bridge. The Consultant will be responsible for examining the site constraints and developing design alternatives that address the challenges of this site. The Project area is located along E Los Olivos Street between the intersection of Alameda Padre Serra and Puesta Del Sol. Services will include, but will not be limited to the following: • a limited topographical survey of the Project area and boundary research, review of existing geotechnical investigation, biological assessment, cultural resources report, and hydraulic analyses; • a feasibility analysis, including the identification of existing conditions and constraints as it pertains to the proposed development and Project area; • three conceptual design options, consistent with applicable local, State, and Federal standards and requirements; • a cost analysis for the engineering, design, and construction of the preferred alternative; and • safety and maintenance considerations arising from the proposed development.
