The proposed improvements consist of the removal and replacement of the East Second Street bridge deck over the canal feeder, the reconstruction of the approaches to the bridges, and all other necessary work to complete the project within the canal corridor in Whiteside County. The proposed approach road reconstruction shall be with a proposed 3” thick HMA Pavement on a 12” thick aggregate base course. Additional items of work include the establishment of signing for a detour route for Second Street traffic, the placement of curb and gutter, storm sewer, retaining wall, slope wall, guardrail, chain link fence, and all other necessary and collateral work to complete the project as shown on the plans and as specified elsewhere in these provisions.
