King County is seeking a wide array of footwear for the Bus Operators in the King County Department of Transportation, Metro Transit Division. The specifications describe herein are the minimum acceptable requirements for such footwear. The Contractor shall maintain an inventory of shoes to meet the needs of the County’s estimated 2,800 Metro Transit Operators, of which currently 25% are women, and 75% are men. The intent is not to limit competition, but for a manufacture/dealer to provide a solution for the operators to have the ability to seek out quality, comfortable, and appealing footwear that fit properly but will also provide the operator an array of options from multiple manufacture/brands and styles to choose from, that is priced right and will provide a shopping experience that is convenient, hassle free, and has the customers’ needs as the Contractors primary focus.
