The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) seeks fixed price bids from qualified offerors to establish sources of supply statewide to provide labor, material, and all necessary equipment for qualified Contractors to provide On-Call Emergency Wrecker Services (Wrecker) Class A (light duty) and Class C (heavy duty) towing and recovery operations statewide. These services are essential to maintain the safe and efficient movement of traffic during declared emergencies, including but not limited to: • Hurricanes • Tropical Storms • Winter weather • Natural disasters • Evacuations • Any other event as determined by SCDOT or the Governor of South Carolina The primary goal is to ensure that disabled vehicles and roadway obstructions are promptly removed to maintain maximum traffic capacity during high-demand situations. These contracts operate in support of, but does not replace or supersede, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) - Highway Patrol Wrecker Regulations (SC Code of Regulations 38-600).
