The Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (CBNERR-MD) has designated funds in its 2024 operations award (NA23NOS42000233) PCA NC35A to purchase Trimble surveying equipment for Reserve required elevation monitoring. The reserve has identified the equipment described above as appropriate for this task. Two R980 receivers (R9801015001) will be used to occupy benchmarks to derive elevations using the included software (TAGENSURVP), which will also allow for additional products to be created using elevation data collected by this equipment and its required accessories (1010700001, 8986100, TSC51110000, and 520046). These receivers will both be configured as “bases” with one also configured as “rover”, which allows staff to perform both Real Time Kinematic (RTN) and Real Time Network (RTN) surveys (R980BRO).
