1.1.1 To ensure compatibility with the City’s existing inventory of hydrants, spare parts, and standardized maintenance procedures, all fire hydrant assemblies must be Mueller Super Centurion 250 A-423, modified as shown in Detail No.: W-1 Typical Fire Hydrant and as described herein. No other fire hydrant assemblies will be allowed. 1.1.2 Fire hydrant assemblies must have a working pressure of 250 psi with no leakage. 1.1.3 Fire hydrant assemblies must be furnished with complete joint assemblies including glands, gaskets, bolts and nuts. 1.1.4 Fire hydrant assemblies must conform to the requirements of AWWA C502 and ANSI/NSF-61, and NSF-372. 1.2 Direction of Opening - 1.2.1 Fire Hydrant Assemblies must be designed to open “right” (clockwise) with approximately 17 ¼ turns. 1.3 Nozzles - 1.3.1 Fire hydrant must have two (2) 2.5-inch hose connections, 120 degrees apart and one (1) 4.5-inch pumper connection.
