Snow removal is considered to be an emergency operation. The Contractor shall at all times maintain a work force approved by the City’s Snow Command Office to perform the snow removal operations as required and specified. • Snow is to be piled in designated areas to minimize the loss of parking spaces prior to hauling to local dump site. • Contractor shall, on demand of the City’s Snow Command Office dismiss without delay from his/her service under this Agreement, any agent or employee who is disorderly, quarrelsome, disobedient, intoxicated, or incompetent in the opinion and discretion of the City’s Snow Command Office or authorized representative. • Contractor’s vehicles and equipment must be in good operating condition to ensure maximum efficiency in completing the snow removal operation as rapidly and safely as possible. Contractor is required to remove snow from premises and haul snow to a local dump site in Wheaton specified by the Snow Command office within twenty-four (24) hours from the termination of a snowfall. PARKING LOTS Snow removal for Parking Lots, which shall include plowing, and hauling cleared snow to a local site in Wheaton. The City is responsible for salting Parking Lots. PARKING GARAGES Snow removal for Parking Garages, which shall include plowing and hauling cleared snow to a local site in Wheaton, shall be performed during the hours when the fewest vehicles are present. These hours are typically from 8:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., unless otherwise approved by the City’s Snow Command office. • Top Floor: Pile snow away from condo walls, stairways, and stairway/elevator enclosures. • All Floors: Plow and/or treat all areas where blowing and drifting snow accumulated. • Plows must have a rubber/poly edged blades to ensure that no damage is done to expansion joints and deck/traffic coatings. • Plows that have metal/steel edged blade are PROHIBITED from the Parking Garages.
