Workers’ Compensation Defense Counsel will provide legal advice to the City Administration on worker’s compensation claims and will represent the interests of the City in connection with worker’s compensation petitions, will interact with the City’s third-party insurance administrator, and will attend meetings of the City Insurance Committee. The following are some general examples of the services that fall under Workers’ Compensation Defense Counsel: 1. Represent the city in workers' compensation claims and disputes. 2. Manage workers' compensation cases from inception through resolution. 11 3. Negotiates settlements and handling claim resolutions. 4. Provide advice on compliance with workers' compensation laws and regulations. 5. Represent the city in appeals related to workers' compensation claims.
