General Legal Services are any legal services as may be required by the City from time to time, which are not within the salaried duties of the Director of Law pursuant to City Code Section 4-52. In addition to all other requirements of this RFQ, Respondents submitting a Response for General Legal Services must include a cost proposal to perform General Legal Services. The following are some general examples of the services that fall under General Legal Services: 1. Provide legal advice on a wide range of municipal governance issues, including compliance with local, state, and federal laws. 2. Ensures compliance with public records laws (e.g., Freedom of Information Act) and open meetings laws (e.g., Sunshine laws). 3. Ensures the adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety codes. 4. Provides guidance on conflicts of interest, ethical standards for city officials, and governance practices. 5. Provide legal advice related to emergency preparedness, response protocols, and liability issues. 6. Provide legal support for issues involving public safety, police procedures, and related litigation. 7. Drafts and analyzes local laws, ordinances, and resolutions passed by the city council. 8. Provide guidance on local taxation issues, including property taxes, fines, and other revenue collection matters.
