The consultant is to design a corrosion control treatment system for Port Well 15 (S23) to raise the pH using aeration. Aeration treatment method has been approved by the DOH and will be the only treatment option for consideration. The design must complete the following: • The treatment is to optimize corrosion control in the city distribution system. Currently, the pH of the Port wells ranges from 6.8 to 7. To optimize the system, DOH is requiring a change of pH to a range from 7.8 to 8.0. • The treatment system will be located adjacent to Port Well 15. • The treatment system must be able to treat up to 2,500 gallons per minute (gpm). Well 15 will be the initial source which pumps at an average of 750 gpm. Additional source wells may be added over time with a maximum pumping capacity of 2,500 gpm in the future. • A professional engineer licensed in the State of Washington must complete and submit the design to DOH.
