This project includes bringing all and sufficient equipment to install rip rap via water using standard top dressing of existing rip rap where needed for stabilization per the City’s US Army Corp of Engineering permit # CEMVR-DO-P-2015-314. Rip rap will be installed on a minimum of 3,000 feet of highly visible, highly erodible shoreline within Lake Springfield (see attached maps for selected areas). The target areas are within the main body of Lake Springfield. All shoreline grading (if necessary), filter fabric placement, and other necessary activities shall be done to specifications provided by the City and under the direct supervision of City Water, Light and Power staff. The contractor will furnish all necessary equipment and experienced labor to install rip rap and filter fabric if needed, along the designated shoreline of Lake Springfield within 3 miles of the rip rap loading site. The contractor will trim brush as needed and pin filter fabric in place where needed. The contractor will load the equipment, transport by water and place rip rap to elevations and grade similar to the 2013 and 2018 Lake Springfield Shoreline Stabilization Projects. If additional residential work is offered, the contractor will continue to use the rip rap loading site, unless another loading site is agreed upon with the City. The contractor will rough grade the loading site prior to vacating. The City will furnish and deliver rip rap, filter fabric and pins to the loading site which is located at the Lindsay Bridge boat launch. The City will furnish and maintain a rip rap loading site within 3 miles of the work area, provide rock for any temporary erosion control and maintenance at the loading site.
