A description of the work of the contract can be summarized as follows: 1. File 10 day demolition notification. 2. Right of Way Permits must be pulled for the property at the City of Reed City Public Service Department if needed. 3. Confirm Gas lines per Consumers Energy have already been shut off at main, retired, and/or capped. Provide confirmation from utility. 4. Electric and Water service disconnect, provide confirmation from utility. 5. Contractor will work with City of Reed City officials to ensure that all sewer lines connected to demolished and removed structures are appropriately and securely capped and inspected. If a septic tank is located, the contents needs to be pumped, inspected, and then removed. 6. Soil Erosion control – if a property is within 500 feet of a lake, body of water, stream or county drain, a permit and application must be filed with the City of Reed City. Controls must be implemented, and procedures must follow the City of Reed City Ordinances. 7. Open Hole Inspection is required and shall be approved prior to any backfilling operations. Contact the OCLBA for inspection. 8. Protection of trees - It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to protect all trees of a diameter of 4” or greater that are located outside of five (5) feet from the structure being demolished. 9. Site and Building demolition a. Be aware of property corners and lot lines accurately to set limit of demolition/deconstruction. While some properties may receive stake surveys prior to demolition, contractor is responsible to verify property location. Any properties with completed surveys will have copies of those surveys available in the Osceola County Land Bank Authority office. b. Create 2-4 holes in attic (if applicable) and pre-soak with water for at least 5 minutes before demolition.
