Standard Equipment: All forklifts offered under the contract shall be equipped with all factory equipment advertised as "Standard Equipment". Deletions from "Standard Equipment" will not be accepted, unless otherwise specified. IMPORTANT NOTE: All forklifts must include the following features: factory standard triple stage mast, side shift, back-up alarm, rear-mounted strobe light, rear assist grip handle with horn control, inching brake, and fire extinguisher. Design: All forklifts shall be new models that are in current production. All forklifts shall be complete with all necessary operating components and accessories customarily furnished, together with such modifications as may be necessary to enable the forklifts to function reliably and efficiently in sustained operation. The forklifts shall be designed to permit read accessibility for maintenance purposes with minimal disturbance of other components or assemblies. Components, Assemblies and Accessories: Components, assemblies and accessories to be delivered to the state shall meet or exceed all requirements of this solicitation and the applicable detailed specifications. Emission Controls: All engines furnished under these specifications shall comply with the regulations of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in effect on the date of manufacture. Cooling System: Unless otherwise specified, cooling systems shall be manufacturer’s standard equipment for the models specified as equipped. Cooling system design and capacity shall maintain the engine at optimum safe temperature under all operating conditions without any loss of coolant or overheating of engine and components. Suspension System: Suspension system shall be adequate strength to sustain loads. Steering: All forklifts shall have power steering. Brakes: All forklifts shall have power brakes. Controls and Operating Mechanisms: Controls and operating mechanisms shall be located for ready access by the operator and shall be clearly identified as to function.
