The Contractor selected to provide liner repair services under this Contract shall provide all required labor, materials, equipment and supplies on an "as needed" basis to prepare the work area, seal, or reseal breaks, cuts, tears and/or other openings in existing liner materials by either extrusion welding of existing in-place, or replacement with new HDРЕ or LLDPE materials or sew and stitch scrim reinforced liner and windscreen ballast, on an "as needed" basis, to ensure a continuous impermeable and stable surface. The Contractor shall perform all work as to assure and protect the integrity of existing liners using common industry standards. The Contractor shall provide one (1) lead worker/field Supervisor with a minimum of two (2) year's experience in seaming liner material and the necessary quantity of skilled workers (crew members) to assure timely progress of work. The Contractor shall provide all required power sources, equipment, tools, welding materials and any miscellaneous supplies that may be required to perform the work. Work in the field may include removal of any impurities that would prevent proper union of materials as found during the welding process. All welding shall be completed utilizing industry standards for such work, to assure the completed repair is impermeable. The Authority shall assist in work site preparation ahead of the Contract, including sweeping, shoveling, washing or scrubbing of earth, dirt, sand, trash, or other foreign materials as to provide clear access to required work areas. The Authority will remove any tires or earth used as weights to hold material in place that may affect the work area and return such upon completion of the Contractor's work. Existing geomembrane materials are of 40 or 60 mil thickness, and may be either smooth or textured surface, other existing cap liner materials include 20 mil scrim reinforced liner and windscreen ballast. Use of new materials to replace or repair existing materials shall be a joint field decision and approved in advance by the Authority, however, unless otherwise directed, replacement and repair materials shall match existing materials. The Contractor shall cut and align replacement and repair materials in the most efficient manner.
