It is the intent of the State of South Carolina Department of Public Health to solicit proposals from vendors to Design, Facilitate, and Evaluate Training for the South Carolina Community Violence Workshop. The workshop will take place in Columbia, South Carolina, February 19th, 2026. Attendance will be comprised of community violence reduction organizations and others involved in the community violence ecosystem such as hospital staff, faith-based leaders, law enforcement, and grassroot leaders. The location of the workshop will be the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center that’s located at 1101 Lincoln Street, Columbia, SC, 29201. A/V equipment and food will be provided; these items to include the price of the location should not be included in the quote. The scope of work outlined below will provide Community Violence Intervention (CVI) professionals with the opportunity to convene for a one-day training and technical assistance workshop. This training will give CVI professionals the opportunities to learn best practices, promote collaboration, and strengthen networking. CVI strategies focus on individuals who are at highest risk of victimization and perpetration of community violence and utilize a public health approach to reduce violence through tailored community-centered initiatives. Such strategies include street outreach through the use of violence interrupters/credible messengers, hospital-based violence intervention programs, cognitive behavioral interventions with wrap around services, mentorships or group-based violence intervention.
