Sealed bids are hereby solicited for the Pilot Controlled Lighting (PCL) system replacement at the New River Valley Airport. The (PCL) system was struck by lightning in early July and rendered out of service. The runway and taxiway lights can manually be engaged but could not be activated by radio while tuned to the Airport’s CTAF. The system was partially repaired but can only be turned off or set to high intensity, which is often too bright for night-time operations. The current system is outdated, and parts are no longer available. The project scope will include evaluating existing conditions, removal and disposal of the old PCL system, and installing, testing, and implementing a new PCL system to allow the runway and taxiway lights to be toggled between off, low, medium, and high, by intermittent CTAF radio signals.
