Nashville Public Library (NPL) offers free wellness programming to the community at all 21 library branches across Davidson County. Since 2017, NPL has provided classes that support physical movement, mindfulness, and stress reduction. The library is seeking qualified vendors to provide inclusive, accessible mind-body programs. Metro reserves the right to award to multiple vendors in each discipline (yoga, tai chi, meditation/mindfulness, and dance) who are within the competitive range. Program Objectives * Deliver community-centered wellness classes that encourage stress reduction, movement, and community engagement. * Offer programming appropriate for a wide range of ages and physical abilities, including children, adults and seniors. Scope of Services - Program Requirements * Provide in-person classes in disciplines such as yoga, tai chi, dance, mindfulness/meditation. * Classes should accommodate skill levels and physical abilities. * Class duration: 45-60 minutes per session. * Instructors should arrive at least 5 minutes prior to each scheduled class. * Coordinate scheduling and promotion with library staff. Program Descriptions by Practice Yoga * Yoga classes should promote flexibility, strength, balance, and stress relief. Instructors must be able to adapt poses and sequences to suit a wide range of physical abilities, including seated or chairbased modifications as needed. The focus should be on breathwork, posture, and inclusive language to support a welcoming environment for all participants. Tai Chi * Tai Chi sessions should emphasize slow, flowing movements that enhance body awareness, balance, and relaxation. Classes should be suitable for individuals of various ages and fitness levels, including those with limited mobility. Instructors should guide participants through basic forms and ensure a calming, meditative approach.
