The Nursing Education Program at CCA prepares students to become skilled, compassionate healthcare professionals by providing high-quality instruction, hands-on clinical experience, and support services. We are committed to serving our diverse community and equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed for successful careers in nursing. To properly prepare students, instruction requires hands on practice prior to clinical experiences. This includes the use of headwalls which mimic those found in the clinical environment. Purchase of simulated functional headwalls for use in Skills Lab and Simulation Lab will allow students opportunities to practice hands-on skills needed for future nursing practice. Functional but simulated headwalls are preferred to headwalls used in the clinical environment because nursing schools typically lack the oxygen lines found in hospitals. Additionally, the constraints of most buildings, specifically those designed for educational purposes, mean that the nursing schools cannot always install headwalls into the walls for permanent fixture. As such, mobile headwalls are necessary to provide hands-on learning experiences and support realism in the Skills and Simulation Labs.
