This Agreement is for transmission services; repair and rebuild (overhaul). The Seller will first diagnose the transmission to determine the course of repair/rebuild. The Seller shall contact the Equipment Management Department for approval to repair/rebuild before commencing work on transmissions. Repair is defined as the replacement/repair of certain parts in the transmission that does not involve a complete teardown of the transmission and subsequent rebuild. Rebuild (Overhaul) is defined as the complete teardown of the transmission and involves, at the minimum, the following steps: • The transmission shall be carefully inspected for cracks, stripped bolt holes, and flat mating surfaces. All fasteners must be tightened to the torque specifications indicated by the manufacturer. • All steel, cast iron, and aluminum parts are to be thoroughly cleaned and inspected to ensure they meet OEM specifications. • Valve bodies are to be completely disassembled, cleaned, and inspected to ensure they meet OEM specifications.
