The towns of Shoreham and Ripton have expressed interest in improving their planning and management of their transportation infrastructure. This involves documenting existing assets, prioritizing the most critical components, developing a maintenance plan, and budgeting for repair or replacement. Both towns have had recent culvert inventories, and data from those inventories is publicly available at VTCulverts.org. Bridges in the towns are inspected every two years by the state and the results of the most recent bridge inspection reports are available from the Vermont Agency of Transportation. Additional field data collection, such as pavement condition, can be conducted by municipal staff with the assistance of the Regional Planning Commission.
