The work contemplated by this contract consists of roof replacement and associated repairs on the exterior and interior of the Everett C. Benton Library, 75 Oakley Road, Belmont, Massachusetts. The work shall include removal of the existing asphalt shingle roof and gable ventilators (2), and installing new asphalt shingle roofing and related flashings; installation of wood panels on interior ceiling at locations of the removed ventilators to match the existing wood ceiling in wood species and finish. The building is owned by the Town of Belmont. The Contractor shall exercise care to protect the property of the Owner from damage during performance of the work. It is the Owner's intent that the building be occupied during the roof replacement. The Successful Quoting Party shall coordinate with the Owner in advance regarding any required library closures necessary to complete portions of the work. At completion of the work, the building shall be ready for occupancy and full use by the Owner. ADD ALTERNATE 1: The work for Add Alternate 1 shall include the removal of existing gableend bluestone capstones, installation of through-wall copper flashing, and installation new bluestone capstones to match the original capstones.
