Bexar County Facilities Management (BCFM) is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for the replacement of the 90-ton chilled water air conditioning unit serving the B-Building at the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center (JDC), located at 600 Mission Road. The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and delivery necessary to remove and haul away the existing chiller and replace it with a new unit of equal cooling capacity. The scope of work includes all required temporary utility disconnects, proper disposal of the existing unit, mounting of the new chiller on the existing housekeeping pad, final utility connections, and equipment startup. The contractor must ensure the final installation includes new thermometer wells, 9” alcohol-filled thermometers, 6” full-port isolation ball valves, PT plugs, air vents, and fully insulated and aluminum-jacketed supply and return chilled water line connections. Note: Butterfly-type isolation valves are not acceptable.
