BCFM is soliciting bids for the replacement of all fire sprinkler heads in the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC). The existing sprinkler heads will be replaced on a one-for-one basis with new tamper-proof, UL-listed institutional-grade sprinkler heads, each with an integrated escutcheon. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following trades: fire suppression and plumbing. 1. Remove and replace all existing fire sprinkler heads with UL-listed, tamper-proof, institutional-grade heads that comply with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes. The new heads must be semi-recessed. Contractors are required to furnish and install any necessary extensions to ensure each head is flush with the ceiling, leaving no visible gaps. 2. Fire sprinkler head replacements will be required on all floors of the Juvenile Detention Center. Specific replacement areas include, but are not limited to: a. Administrative offices b. Egress stair enclosures c. Mop closets in each living unit d. Vestibules and corridors e. Electrical closets 3. Estimated Quantity: Approximately 1,200 sprinkler heads.
