The BIOTAGE TurboVap LV evaporation systems will be installed in the Sheriff’s Department’s Toxicology laboratory to control dry-down speeds of extracted drugs in blood and urine samples. This will prevent splashing and eliminate cross contamination of drugs recovered from blood and urine samples. Specifications include, but are not limited to: (2) BIOTAGE TurboVap LV (Product # 415000) solvent evaporation systems: Must be capable of evaporation of up to 48 samples with independent control of flow in each row. Must be capable of being used in 24 or 48 position mode. Must be compatible with tube sizes ranging from 10-32 mm (outer diameter) and from 32 up to 165 mm in length. Must have a flexible rack system Must have a color touch screen (approximately 7-8 inches) for easy set-up and operation of methods. Must be able to utilize flow gradients within a programmed method. Must have removable nozzles for cleaning/maintenance, and adjustable manifold nozzles. Must have a water bath drain port. Must have an exhaust hose, approximately 12.5 feet and approximately 2” inner diameter. Must be compatible with the following solvents: acetone, acetonitrile, chloroform, dichloromethane, diethyl ether, dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide, ethanol, ethyl acetate, heptane, hexane, isooctane, isopropanol, methanol, methyl tert-butyl ether, pentane, tetrahydrofuran, toluene, and water Must have a supplied 6mm outer diameter gas inlet tube and two connectors for conversion to ¼” or 3/8” outer diameter.
