A. This Section contains a summary of the work in this Contract and other known work in the vicinity of the Contract work. B. The specifications included in this Work Order solicitation are of a general nature of potential work under this contract. As a result, some sections specified may not be included in this solicitation, but when necessary, will be included for negotiation on individual Work Orders. In addition, the specifications include spaces or blanks where information is To Be Determined for the specific work order, notated as [TBD for the specific Work Order]. The specifications may also include Notes to Specifier (NTS) which provide added information to the contractor on the intention and / or approach that the County expects to take in addressing the needs of the individual work orders. C. The project work is located at West Point Treatment Plant – 1400 Discovery Park Blvd, Seattle, WA 98199. The purpose of this project is to deliver small to medium-sized mechanical asset management projects at the West Point Treatment Plant. All work is location based at the Plant. The work will be mechanical, repair and improvements to supporting systems and structures. The work will take place within an operating wastewater treatment facility. The table below provides a brief overview of work that is anticipated to be included under this contract. The list is not guaranteed nor intended to be complete. B. This work will be done in a series of Work Order packages. The Technical Specifications and standard construction details in this Contract are typical of King County Wastewater Treatment Division standards. These common Technical Specifications are incorporated by reference into each item of work performed under this Contract. Each work order issued on this contract may include specifications tailored to each work order project. Additional drawings and other supplemental specifications may be provided to the Contractor once the specific requirements of the Work Order are determined. C. The Contractor shall retain subcontractors and specialty services, as required to complete all service work required by King County. D. The continuous operation of the Wastewater Treatment Division’s (WTD’s) facilities and systems are critical to public health, safety, and environmental protection. The Contractor shall not schedule system outages without the express written permission of the Project Representative. The Contractor shall coordinate all outages with the Project Representative, with three weeks prior notice to any anticipated system outages. In addition to maintenance and diagnostic activities, the Contractor shall provide appropriate levels of planning, systems analyses, coordination, and scheduling, to ensure that the reliability of a building is not unreasonably compromised. Schedule and conduct all work in a manner consistent with the Contract, and comply with the construction schedule, the specific work sequence, Contract milestones and constraints of the work as specified. E. Plan the sequence of construction to accommodate all Contract requirements. F. Accomplishment of work in the Contract Documents shall meet all requirements of the Contract including timeframes specified by Section 01 14 00. G. The above description is not intended to be complete. The work to be completed is provided for in the Contract Documents. The summary in this Section is not intended to relieve the Contractor of the responsibility for reading and understanding the Contract Documents.
