LOCATION OF WORK: 1. The Contractor shall perform roadway sweeping and cleaning services throughout Prince William Residency. There are four (4) Area Headquarters (AHQs) within the Prince William Residency that will be requesting service. The AHQs are as follows: Gainesville Area Headquarters Dumfries Area Headquarters 14831 Lee Highway 18200 Jefferson Davis Highway Gainesville, VA 20155 Dumfries, VA 22026 Manassas Area Headquarters Lake Ridge Area Headquarters 10228 Residency Road 13000 Chinn Park Dr. Manassas, VA 20110 Woodbridge, VA 22192 C. WORK REQUIREMENTS: 1. All roadway sweeping services and traffic control performed shall be in conformance with the latest edition of the VWAPM, and the latest edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Device Standards (MUTCD). 2. The Contractor’s equipment shall meet Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and Virginia Occupational Safety & Health (VOSH) standards. Additionally, the Contractor shall remain in compliance with all OSHA and VOSH personnel, equipment, and safety regulations throughout the entire term of this contract.. 3. Sweeping/Cleaning shall be achieved through a mechanical means using broom-type sweeping to be visually clear of accumulated debris from all surfaces of the roadway. 4. All work shall be performed within VDOT maintained right-of-way. 5. The Contractor shall provide sufficient equipment and personnel to perform any required manual (non-mechanical) sweeping operation that may be required to remove excessive debris in locations such as, but not limited to, concrete medians, including the top surface, gore areas, curbs, median barrier walls, and other raised structures. 6. The Contractor shall provide all necessary equipment to remove and legally dispose of collected debris. Travel time required for disposal of debris shall not be billable. 7. Large debris and dead animal pickup are not part of the required services of this contract but shall be removed off the roadway surface to allow for disposal by others. The Contractor shall notify the VDOT Contract Administrator or designee with the location and type of large debris or dead animal that has been moved off the roadway. 8. VDOT does not guarantee quantities. The quantities listed are estimates only. Reference Special Term and Condition paragraph 11. Estimated Quantities. D. EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: 1. The Contractor shall provide all necessary equipment and tools of the trade to perform mechanical street sweeping/cleaning services and traffic control, in a single or multiple routes sweeping operation.
