EEA/MassDEP requires replacement of its MassAir application with a community air monitoring dashboard that, on a single platform, harmonizes the display of data from multiple air quality sensor devices and regulatory air monitoring stations in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The dashboard will allow residents to monitor air quality conditions in their local areas, providing easy access to historic data, display forecasts and air quality advisories, and provide basic public health information related to air pollution. The dashboard users will be the general public, community organizations, and local government agencies who require access to accurate and easily understandable air quality information. The selected Contractor will assess, design, and build a new web-based, user-friendly, interactive dashboard that provides comprehensive, near real-time air quality data and historical trends. The dashboard system will provide data retrieval, processing, storage, QA checks, and AQI/NowCast calculations needed to display the data from different sources together on maps and graphs. It will allow MassDEP staff to configure and maintain new sensors, pollutants, maps, and QA/calculation parameters, and to track maintenance of sensors. Instrument sources may be owned by MassDEP or other partner organizations. Data are generally available via API.
