The proposed project will occur on the Columbia River at River Mile (RM) 269.40 at the Port of Morrow's existing Terminal 1 Slip. All accumulated sediment within the slip will be dredged down to the existing concrete bottom at elevation 243 (NGVD 29). Approximately 14,000 square feet area will be dredged just outside the slip entrance and down to the same elevation. Approximately 50,000 cubic yards of material will need to be removed. Dredge material will be disposed of in an upland containment basin already constructed directly adjacent to the Terminal 1 Slip. Return water will be treated through a three-stage series of settling ponds before it is discharged back into the river. In addition, one turning dolphin consisting of 3 pilings will be installed approximately 175 feet from the shoreline near the entrance to Terminal 1 to aid barges turning into the slip.
