The Fairhaven Water Department is requesting proposals to clean and redevelop two (2) gravel packed wells and related pumping equipment. Well number “2” is eighteen inches (18”) in diameter with a seven feet (7’) stainless steel screen, and is 59’ deep and has high concentrations of iron (7.44 mg/l) and manganese (0.48 mg/l). Well number “3” is twenty-four inches (24”) in diameter with a ten feet (10’) stainless steel screen, and is 71.91’ deep and has high concentrations of iron (0.62mg/l) and manganese (0.113 mg/l). We are requesting a proposal to clean and redevelop both wells using the conventional chemical additive cleaning process. Additional work will require the removal, cleaning, chlorination and reinstallation of approximately four feet (4’) of discharge piping including air relief valve, check valve and spool pieces.
