South Orange Village has been awarded a New Jersey Green Acres Grant to support the renovation of the Cameron Recreation Area. The project is designed to transform the existing space into a modern, environmentally sustainable recreation area that offers both active and passive recreational opportunities. Funding will be provided through a combination of Green Acres and Village resources. Once completed, the renovated area will serve as a vibrant community destination and provide a vital connection between the downtown and the broader Meadowland Park. To list some of the additions the project will add two half-court basketball areas, two platform tennis courts, one pickle ball court, athletic lighting, decorative lighting, native planting areas, picnic areas and new pathways.
