Fire Alarm System Upgrades Scope of Work: • Remove and replace the existing fire alarm system for the entire school. Removal of the existing system includes, but is not limited to, any and all fire alarm system infrastructure, devices, power supplies, control panels, modules and associated system components. Existing system will be replaced with a new addressable fire alarm/voice evacuation system as scheduled, noted, and shown on the contract documents. • In removing the existing fire alarm system for the school, contractor shall remove any and all associated boxes, conduit pathways, and wiring back to the point of source unless noted otherwise. If infrastructure is recessed in the existing walls and is not being utilized for new devices, conduit systems shall be abandoned in place while the rough-in boxes will be removed and the contractor will be required to cut, patch, paint, and repair walls as required to match existing conditions. If associated infrastructure is exposed on wall and not being utilized for new devices, all will be removed in its entirety. At that point, contractor will be required to cut, patch, paint, and repair walls as required to match existing conditions. • All existing path of egress entrances/exits for the school shall be provided with pull stations complete with stopper II covers. • All existing HVAC units over 2,000 cfm's shall be provided with a smoke duct detector and associated remote test station. • All existing classrooms in the school being supplied/served by a gas-fire appliance will be provided with an addressable carbon monoxide detector.
