The SNEP Network offers three main types of assistance to communities: 1) Training – The Network hosts topical webinars and in-depth trainings designed to build knowledge and capacity across a range of topics. Central to this effort is the Stormwater Planning Series, which collectively guides communities to develop a conceptual design for a nature-based stormwater retrofit option in their selected drainage area. The SNEP Network Liaisons will assist with training, identify training needs, and amplify training opportunities to their communities. 2) Technical Assistance – Communities, Tribes, and organizations can request direct support from the Network to address stormwater management, climate resilience actions, ecological restoration solutions, and innovative financing guidance. Network assistance may include scoping, planning, community outreach, assistance with conceptual designs, and/or sustainable financing guidance. Liaisons will support the NEEFC in scoring and selecting community assistance projects and aid the NEEFC in putting together technical assistance project teams which include SNEP Network partner organizations and occasionally consultant services. Each Liaison will be expected to maintain a caseload of 3-6 projects a year as the project manager with varying level of additional technical responsibility depending on the Liaisons technical expertise and background. 3) Regional Tool and Resource Development – The Network supports the creation of shared tools, templates, and resources to address common challenges and streamline project development across communities. These tools are designed to be broadly applicable across Southeast New England and support long-term regional collaboration. As a bi-state program now entering its 7th year, the SNEP Network will continue to build regional approaches to advance best practices in stormwater management, ecological restoration, and sustainable financing, with an emphasis on regional collaboration across Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. By coordinating across community, Tribal, nonprofit, and state/federal partners, the Network works to address common challenges and develop innovative, collective solutions. This includes facilitating peer-to-peer learning, supporting watershed-scale initiatives, and developing tools and resources to advance the region’s level of practice in stormwater, watershed management, and sustainable financing. Liaisons will assist with identifying regional needs, developing regional tools and resources, and rolling out tools and resources within their respective states.
