A. Wastewater Pumps – Monthly Services 1. Check, service, and update all recording charts. Service log update shall, at minimum, include date, time in and out, name of person performing work, status of equipment, action taken, and unusual and impending problem, if any. 2. Check and lubricate all pump packings, tighten packing glands as required. 3. Clean and flush drip reservoirs and drains as needed. 4. Check float and all control switches and alarm systems. 5. Check all other equipment and service/adjust as required. 6. Inspect float, tube, float cables and fasteners as applicable. 7. Operate vent plugs, drain and flush venturi tube chamber. 8. Test alarm system (coordinate test with Harbors Maintenance Supervisor) 9. Lubricate bearings and drives. 10. Run pumps on Hand to check operation. 11. Check belts adjust and/or replace as required. 12. Check shaft sleeve wear for each pump and lubricate accordingly. 13. Exercise all shut off valves. 14. Check air flow gauge for proper flow. 15. Alternate bubbler pumps weekly. 16. Replace air filters. 17. Clean bubbler line as needed. 18. Inspect all controls for signs of malfunction, overheating and damage. 19. Record hour meter reading and check for normal operation. 20. Clean controls with compressed air. 21. Check control sequence for proper operation. 22. Check movement of contactors and check for equal spring tension. 23. Tighten all connections. 24. Clean and dry all motors. 25. Check applicable ventilation fans and lubricate motor bearings accordingly. 26. Report all discrepancies to the Harbor Maintenance Supervisor. 27. Certify performance of monthly service and report any discrepancies. B. Wastewater Pumps – Annual Services 1. Check and exercise all check, shut-off, and bypass valves. 2. Inspect, clean and service all electrical equipment, including motors, starters, float switches, circuit breakers, transfer switches, contacts, relays, megger motors, etc. 3. Prepare reports and submit results with monthly invoices. 3. Inspect pumps to determine if overhauling is needed. (Raise rotating element, inspect wearing rings, seals, shaft, impeller, gaskets, casing, etc.) Report the results to the Harbor Maintenance Supervisor. 5. Certify performance of annual service and report any discrepancies.
