The 2001 Polaris Pkwy facility is approximately 80,000 square feet and has two levels. Currently, the first floor of the building is primarily utilized for laboratory/research, while the second floor is utilized as office/administrative space. The following mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems upgrades are required to support anticipated future needs. 1. Upgrades to the existing emergency generator power system, single 2500 Kva pad transformer, with two service entrance/disconnects 2. Upgrades to the HVAC System (Replace of 11 RTU’s and 6 EF’s) replaced mechanical equipment to be re-connected to the existing power circuiting or connected to generator backup power. The new units are to be re-sized to provide sufficient cooling for “freezer farm” future needs in those areas. The selected design team will be experience in the design and construction administration of similar renovation / replacement projects. Important elements in the selection process will be experience in ensuring the continuation of research operations during the construction phase. The firms must have experience in the complete design of commercial HVAC systems, building automation, and emergency power, to ensure work meets all requirements.
