Bid # 1- Mowing (Semi-annual mowing – Spring and Fall) Mow dams (upstream and downstream slopes), abutments, emergency spillways and associated areas of 6 flood control structures in Appomattox and Campbell County. On all dams: Remove small debris, i.e. limbs and/or small logs, briars, saplings, and shrubs from the wave berm, the outfall area, and groin channels; spot spray vegetation in the riprap channels as needed. Clean trash racks on gate valve riser as needed. Mowing: Little Falling River #1, Little Falling River #2, Little Falling River #3, East Fork Falling River Dam #7, East Fork Falling River Dam #15, and East Fork Falling River Dam #21 Contractor will report back to district any unusual findings during mowing, such as rodent holes or beaver activity, wet spots (that were previously unidentified), unusual water levels and/or evidence of eroded areas. Contractor will possess Commercial Pesticide Applicator license. Bid #2 -Debris Removal (Hourly rate only) Debris removal consists of removal and disposal of trees or other woody debris from riser area, upstream and downstream toes of dam and in groin areas. Most disposal will occur on-site. Depending on the quantity of debris, each site may require a separate work order. For this bid item, quote an hourly rate. Work order will need approval by Robert E. Lee SWCD Board of Directors.
