Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Clemson University's GSRC laboratory is seeking to sole source Tecniplast ventilated caging systems for mice. GSRC currently uses Tecniplast Emerald line individually ventilated caging systems for mice. Any newly purchased IVC racks to add to the system needs to have caging and components that are interchangeable with the current systems. Caging components from other manufacturers are not uniform and are not interchangeable with the current Tecniplast systems. Also, we currently have an air handler unit with our existing system that has the capacity to service a second rack. Another rack will maximize the use of current equipment. This is also proprietary and the air handler will only function with a Tecniplast IVC rack. For these reasons, we are requesting sole source procurement. This will be the second IVC rack purchased this fiscal year and the request has been approved by the Office of the SVPR. This rack wills serve to provide additional high quality rodent housing for established research teams. For these reasons, this is a sole source procurement.
